Three Weapons to Get Over a Break Up—God’s Way

Some relationships should never last. I’m a twenty, African-American, Christian female who recently went through my first serious breakup. It needed to be done. Like most people in my shoes, only romcoms and books taught us what to do after a breakup. But, what are the weapons we need to fight off a heartbreak God’s way? That’s the question I’ve been asking my parents, my aunt, my sister, my cousin, my college friend, my Christian small group friends, even my coworkers. The common answer—get a new beau. Nuh-uh. So we can go into the worldly cycle of endless dating and heartache until we find a spouse just to get divorced with two kids seven years later. No thanks. What we need to fill the void in our heart is quality time with family and God. 1 st weapon—peace. Lost in the presence of God, meditation, is crucial. Picture yourself laid back and listening to soaking worship music in your car while speaking in tongues for countless minutes. Peace is filling your soul. Enough
